By Wendy Kvalheim. Hardcover with 140 pages including acknowledgements, dedication page, contents, introduction, index and 142 full color photographs. Copyright 2003.

This book chronicles the development of the famed Mottahedeh Company from its inception in 1924 to the present day. Mildred and Rafi Mottahedeh developed the fine art of making museum-quality reproductions and expanded the world’s understanding of 18th century porcelain. The Mount Vernon collection includes reproductions of many of the chinaware patterns that George Washington used at home and during his presidency. Today, Mount Vernon sells reproductions of such recognized designs as Tobacco Leaf, Blue Canton and Society of the Cincinnati, among others. Wendy Kvalheim, Mottahedeh’s president and CEO, continues the tradition and gives insight into how designs are conceived and painted, as well as spotlights the Best of the Past—Mottahedeh’s most notable pieces.
