A Taste of History, winner of three Emmy Awards, is an innovative series shown nationally on PBS that brings American history to life and makes it vibrant as we step back in time and get to know the founders of our country through the food they ate and the recipes they prepared.  The host of the series, Chef Walter Staib, demonstrates a true mastery in the preparation of sophisticated 18^th century cuisine, sure to inspire the home cook.  

Travel with Chef Walter Staib as he visits presidential homes, islands and historical locations cooking authentic 18th century recipes in each location, whether over an open fire or hearth. Chef travels back in time to take tea with Martha Washington at George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate & Gardens, throw a party with Dolley Madison at James Madison's Montpelier, sail to Jamaica's shores to pick up ingredients on the southern trade route and talk British Colonial politics in Exuma in the Bahamas.

All 13 episodes from season three are included in this set of four DVD’s.   The running time for each episode is 30 minutes.
