MOUNT VERNON, Va. – Mount Vernon presents an afternoon of entertainment when more than 60 barbershop singers take the stage Tuesday, April 4, at the Robert H. and Clarice Smith Auditorium, located near The Shops at Mount Vernon. At 2:00 p.m. the Harmony Heritage Singers, an all-military veteran chorus, will perform American classics along with The Bay Tones, a chorus from the Northern Neck of Virginia. The two choruses will sing a variety of songs ranging from the ‘Armed Forces and American Medley’ to ‘Take Me Out to the Ball Game’. The barbershop concert is free and open to the public.
The 90-minute concert celebrates the sixty-eighth anniversary of the Barbershop Harmony Society, which began in April 1938. This will be the second time the two groups have performed together. The Harmony Heritage Singers and The Bay Tones have been entertaining the public with their songs for a combined 15 years.
