MOUNT VERNON, Va. – Mount Vernon welcomes former White House pastry chef Roland Mesnier as he creates a gingerbread replica of George Washington’s home from November 12 through November 25. Visitors can watch Mesnier as he constructs the masterpiece, which will include intricate details such as works of art on walls and marzipan George and Martha Washington figures, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. inside the Donald W. Reynolds Museum & Education Center lobby. The five-foot-wide and two-foot-tall gingerbread Mansion replica will be on display as part of the new Christmas at Mount Vernon daytime event, which begins on November 28. On November 22 and 23, Mesnier will sign his books at 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. This book signing is free, however Mesnier’s books must be purchased from The Shops at Mount Vernon. All other events are included with Estate admission. Visit www.MountVernon.org for more information.
