Ladder-back side chair with four arched slats between two cylindrical stiles or back posts with egg-and-spool-turned finials and tapered feet, a woven herringbone seat, and urn-cylinder-and-spool-turned front posts with ball feet joined by box stretchers. The slats are arched on the top and bottom, chamfered along the top front edge, and secured with nails at back. Faint lines are inscribed around the back posts to mark the placement of the slat, seat, and stretchers and on the front posts to mark the placement of the stretchers. The stretcher support consists of a ring-spool-baluster-and-taper-turned upper stretcher and a plain lower rod at front, two plain rods on the sides, and a single rod at back, mounted slightly above the level of the lower side stretchers.
