Glazed earthenware plate molded into a circular form with a shallow well and wide, flat, scalloped rim, decorated in transfer printed purple. The central reserve contains a modern depiction of the reconstructed Washington birthplace at Wakefield, Virginia. Below the image are the words: “Birthplace of Washington / at Wakefield Va." The rim features four reserves with c-scrolls enclosing a floral spray, alternating with four pairs of roses on a dark purple ground.
