Join us this summer for camp at Mount Vernon! Campers discover George Washington’s legacy by exploring his estate through STEM-based activities focusing on archaeology, surveying, architecture, gardening, and more. They also meet people from Washington’s world, learn about everyday life in the 18th century, and meet some of the heritage breed animals on the estate. Throughout the week campers contribute to the creation of an exhibition that conveys important stories about Washington and his home. Families are invited to the “exhibition opening” on Friday afternoon to hear campers describe their creative process and celebrate other achievements such as landscape painting and music making.
Session 1: July 9-13, 9am-3pm
Session 2: July 23-27, 9am-3pm
Drop off begins at 8:45am. Camp activities begin promptly at 9am. Pick up is at 3pm.
On Friday afternoon at 2pm, camper families are invited to a camp exhibition opening.
Registration fee includes lunches, snacks, backpacks, and a Camp Washington t-shirt.
Beginning in March, Mount Vernon will send to guardians a registration packet to collect important information about campers, such as allergies and meal preferences.
Mount Vernon reserves the right to cancel a session no less than two days before camp begins if registration is under eight participants. In this event, you will be notified by phone or e-mail and offered credit for another program, a full refund, or the option to donate your camp fee to Mount Vernon.
