Special Programs with Additional Fee: Certain field trip programs require a modest additional fee as well as Regular Student Admission. See Program Descriptions for details.
Free Teacher's Pass: Teachers who reserve in advance to visit Mount Vernon with a class of at least 20 students will be sent one pass redeemable for complimentary teacher admission on the day of the class visit. This pass must be requested when making a reservation. Passes are NOT available at the Main Gate. Teachers who arrive at the Main Gate without a pass will be counted as required chaperones.
Cancellation Policies:
- All program fees are non-refundable unless severe weather forces cancellation. A 20-minute grace period will be allowed before a group's program is cancelled. In the event of cancellation due to severe weather conditions, we will attempt to reschedule your program on a mutually agreeable date.
- To allow time to make payment at the Main Gate and to give your students a rest break, we recommend that you plan to arrive at Mount Vernon 30 minutes before the scheduled start time of your program.
Safety Guidelines:
- For the enjoyment and safety of all of our visitors, chaperones are required to remain with their groups at all times. Mount Vernon reserves the right to remove unchaperoned or unruly students from the estate.
- Please note that the Mount Vernon estate grounds feature several steep hills and inclines. Many of our school programs take place in an outdoor setting. Encourage your students to dress appropriately for the weather and environmental conditions they may encounter and to WALK, not RUN, while visiting the estate.
To make reservations, please call the Education Department at 703-799-8604 or use our Online Reservations Form. Please allow two to three business days for a response. Thank you!
