Attention Congressional Tour Planners!
Mount Vernon is pleased to offer special Congressional Tours exclusively for the VIP guests and constituents of members of the United States Congress. These walking tours of the Mount Vernon grounds are available every day beginning April 1, 2007 and continuing through October 31, 2007. The 2008 season runs from April 1, 2008 to August 31, 2008.
How to Reserve a Congressional Tour
Please make reservations for these tours by e-mail (requests by phone cannot be accommodated).
Send your reservation request, at least 24 hours before the proposed tour date to congressionaltours@mountvernon.org. Please include the following information in your e-mail:
- Name of party
- Number of guests
- Proposed tour date
- Name of your Member of Congress
We will provide you with an e-mail confirmation once your reservation is complete.
Things You Need to Know in Planning Your Visit
Your tour will depart from Mount Vernon's main entrance promptly at 8:45 a.m.
Please arrive early to allow yourself time to purchase your admission tickets before the tour's departure. Your tour will include the grounds and the gardens and will conclude at Washington's tomb. Although a tour of the Mansion is not included in this VIP experience, you are free to visit the Mansion on your own, at no extra charge, either before or after your tour.
The Estate is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., April through August. Our regular admission rates apply to Congressional Tours ($13.00 adults; $12.00 seniors; $6.00 children ages 6-11; children 5 and under are admitted free).
