Ingredients

  • 3 pounds smoked lean ham
  • 1 1/2 pounds lean pork
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 cup dried fine bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 (16 ounce) can tomato wedges
  • 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons creamed hoeseradish
  • 1/2 teaspoons dry mustard
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 2 teaspoon pepper
  • Directions

    Have butcher grind barn, pork and beef together. Place meat in very large bowl or roaster. Beat eggs. Add crumbs, tomatoes, salt, pepper, brown sugar, horseradish and mustard. When well mixed add this “stew” to meat mixture. Mix thoroughly, preferably by hand. Form into 1 large loaf or 2 smaller ones (1 for the freezer). Bake uncovered for 2 hours at 350 degrees. Serve with horseradish sauce or mustard sauce. Delicious hot or cold.
