Ingredients

  • 1 yellow cake mix
  • 1 (3 1/2 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup Crisco oil
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup chopped pecans
  • 1 cup coconut flakes
  • 1/4 pound butter
  • 1/2 cup dark rum
  • Directions

    Mix first 5 ingredients. Fold in nuts and coconut flakes. Pour into tube angel cake pan. Bake for 50 minutes at 350 degrees. Melt the butter with the rum and at this time pour this mixture over the cake and con tinue to bake for 10 more minutes. Let cake cool for several hours as it is a very rich cake and easily breaks up unless thoroughly cool. Keeps well in the refrigerator.
