Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 3 cups flour
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 cup chopped nuts
  • 1 cup raisins
  • Directions

    Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Put sugar milk, salt and egg into bowl and stir until sugar dissolves. Sift flour before measuring, then sift twice with baking powder. Add to mixture and stir. Add nuts. Pour into 1 large loaf pan or 2 small pans and let rise for 30 minutes. Bake 40 minutes.

    Yeild: 1 large loaf or 2 small loaves
