Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground ham
  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 cup rye or whole wheat bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon powedered ginger
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Sweet-Sour Sauce
  • 1 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dry mustard
  • Directions

    Combine the ingredients and shape into a loaf or hake in a large loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour covering the meat after Yi hout Serve with the following sweet-sour sauce. which may be poured over the loaf 10 minutes before taking from the oven to better meld the juices. This pleasantly pungent party loaf is a whiz to make in a food processor but take care not to over process and do the meats separately. Simmer the ingredients together for 10 to 15 minutes until the sauce is slightly syrupy.
