Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon warm water
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sacue
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon catsup
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 4 clove
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Serveral dashes hot pepper sauce
  • 1 tablespoon dark rum
  • 2 avocados
  • Directions

    Combine ail ingredients except rum in saucepan. Bring mixture to boil and stir. Reduce heat to simmer and cover and stir occasionally. Cook for 20 minutes. Remove and discard doves, add 1 tablespoon dark rum and cook sauce for 2 minutes longer. Halve and seed 2 avocados; score the sides lightly. Divide warm sauce into chilled or room temperature avocados. Recipe can be doubled, reheated over hot water and refrigerated.
