Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons soda
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 cups KELLOGG'S BRAN BUDS cereal
  • 1 cup 100 % bran cereal
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1 (10-ounce) package pitted dates
  • Directions

    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Pour boiling water over Bran Buds. Cream sugar and shortening. Add eggs, flour and salt. To Bran Buds and water add 100% Bran and buttermilk. Add dates. Combine all ingredients. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes.

    Yeild: About 3 dozen medium-large muffins
