Ingredients

  • 1 gallon dandelion blossoms
  • 1 gallon water
  • 1 lemon
  • 3 oranges
  • 3 pounds of sugar
  • 1/2 yeast cake
  • Directions

    1 gallon dandelion blossoms gathered while the sun is shining so they will be open, over which pour 1 gallon water and let stand in a cool place for 3 days. Then put into a porcelain kettle with the rind of 1 lemon cut fine and also the rind of 3 oranges; boil 15 minutes, then strain. Add the juice of the lemon and oranges and also the pulp with 3 pounds of sugar. When lukewarm, add 1/2, yeast cake. Let it stand 1 week in a warm place, then strain and let it stand until it stops working, after which bottle.

    Yield: 4 quart bottles
