Ingredients

  • 2 cups soft bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/3 butter
  • 3 cups hot stewed apples, sweetened to taste
  • 1 pint fresh raspberries
  • Whipped cream
  • Directions

    Spread crumbs with sugar and butter on jelly roll pan. Bake at 350 degrees, stirring occasionally, until mixture starts to caramelize. Spread a layer of crumbs in glass dish and cover with a layer of stewed apples, then fresh crushed raspberries, then more bread crumbs and repeat. Top with crumbs. Cool and cover with a thick layer of whipped cream. When fresh raspberries are not available, frozen may be substituted. Drain thoroughly.

    Serves 8 to 10
