Mount Vernon by Candlelight takes place on November 27, 28 & 29; December 4, 5 & 6; and December 11, 12 & 13

 

"Mrs. Washington" hosts an enchanting evening of candlelit tours, fireside Christmas caroling, and hot cider and ginger cookies. The Mount Vernon by Candlelight tour includes the first and second floors, featuring characters from the Washingtons' world guiding visitors through the home and adding ambiance and authenticity to a traditional Christmas evening at Mount Vernon. more

 

 

 
Former White House Pastry Chef to Create Gingerbread Masterpiece

November 12 - 24, 10:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m.

 

Mount Vernon welcomes former White House pastry chef Roland Mesnier as he creates a gingerbread replica of George Washington’s home. Visitors can watch as Mesnier constructs the masterpiece, which will include intricate details such as works of art on walls and several marzipan figures in the Vaughan Lobby, near the Shops at Mount Vernon. more 

 
 

 

 
Mount Vernon Volunteer with Aladdin the Camel
Christmas at Mount Vernon 

November 27, 2009 - January 6, 2010

 

After last year’s successful new event, Mount Vernon is again joyfully decking the halls for Christmas at Mount Vernon, a special daytime program offered from Thanksgiving Day weekend through the Twelve Days of Christmas (November 27 – January 6). Themed decorations (including 12 Christmas trees), a gingerbread Mount Vernon by former White House pastry chef Roland Mesnier, historical chocolate-making demonstrations, and 18th-century dancing will be offered. more

 

 

 

 
National Treasure Tour

November 1 - December 31

11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.

 

During the "National Treasure Tour” visitors can take an hour-long walking tour that includes behind-the-scenes information about areas where “National Treasure 2: Book of Secrets” filming took place and how these locations were used during George Washington’s time. more
