MOUNT VERNON, Va. – George Washington’s Mount Vernon will host the U.S. Army 29th Infantry Division Band and the Mount Vernon Community Concert Band playing together for the first time on Sunday, June 26 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. The concert will take place on the lawn in front of George Washington’s mansion and is included with admission to the estate. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets for lawn seating. More than 85 musicians will perform American favorites such as “Stars and Stripes” and “Amazing Grace”. First Sergeant Fred Lewis and Joe Stynchula will conduct each band. The 29th Infantry Division Band is based out of Fort Belvoir and the unit is composed of Army National Guard units from about 7 states. ### Events, programs, and activities are subject to change. Mount Vernon is owned and operated by the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association, founded in 1853, making it America’s oldest national preservation organization. Mount Vernon is located at the southern end of the George Washington Memorial Parkway, just 16 miles from Washington, D.C.
