February 23: Finding that the house on Cherry Street is too cramped for the presidential household, the Washingtons move to a new house on Broadway.

August: The Washingtons, accompanied by the two grandchildren, two aids, two maids, eight other servants, and sixteen horses, leave New York for a vacation at Mount Vernon. Mrs. Washington became sick on the way, forcing the travelers to spend a few days in Philadelphia.

November: After leaving Mount Vernon once again, George and Martha Washington and her two youngest grandchildren move into their new home in the new capitol city of Philadelphia.

1791
September: The entire family leaves Philadelphia in mid-September for a month-long vacation at Mount Vernon.

1792
July 11: The Washingtons and their grandchildren leave Philadelphia for a few months' vacation at Mount Vernon. They will return to the executive mansion on October 13th.

1793
September 10: The Washingtons and the two grandchildren leave Philadelphia to vacation at Mount Vernon and to escape the yellow fever epidemic ravaging the city. They return in the fall, not to Philadelphia, but to a house in Germantown on November 1st, until the danger from the epidemic is past.
