The Library is open by 9-5, Monday-Friday.
The Library is closed on the following holidays in 2011:
The Library primarily serves the research needs of the Regent and Vice-Regents of the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association and staff, interns, and fellows. Outside researchers are welcome by appointment, although access to the Library’s special collections may be restricted. The use of special collections is monitored and limited to a designated space in the Library. Whenever possible, library users will be provided with surrogates instead of original manuscripts and rare books. Access to the rarest items in the Library’s special collections by advanced scholars will be determined by Library staff, who will assess the physical condition of the item, as well as the nature of the research request.
The Library staff also responds to inquiries by telephone, phone, mail, and email.
To make an on-site appointment, contact the Head Librarian or Special Collections Librarian. Click here to jump to Staff list at the bottom of this page.
