A Custis family dower slave, Doll was described as being a "labouring woman" who worked at Ferry Farm in 1786. In 1786, Doll had four minor children, Patt (b. 1775), Milly (b. 1782), Daniel (b. 1783), and Silvia (b. 1785). In addition, Doll gave birth to a girl during the fall of 1786. Doll had three more children by 1799, Suckey (b. 1788), Elizabeth (b. 1790), and Elias (b. 1799).1
