Published monthly for two years, 1858-1860, The Illustrated Mount Vernon Record, is the first publication of the fledgling Mount Vernon Ladies' Association. The issues document the launch of a successful national campaign to save Mount Vernon from destruction and provide interesting stories, poems, and anecdotes about George Washington and his beloved home.
