The 1732 Society

The 1732 Society is Mount Vernon's most prestigious leadership group for annual giving recognition. Its members donate $25,000 or more each year on an unrestricted or designated basis to support a wide variety of mission-driven preservation and education activities. Commemorating the year in which the Father of Our Country was born, the 1732 Society offers its members numerous benefits – including special recognition at the Mount Vernon Estate as well as in our publications.

The names of the 1732 Society donors appear annually on a handsome plaque in the main hall of the Ford Orientation Center. This beautiful facility is our gateway from the 21st century to the 18th century, where more than one million visitors each year begin their Mount Vernon experience.

Individual donors and well-known institutions are represented in this group. Their donations can come in the form of cash or stock – or even a charitable gift annuity with a charitable deduction portion of at least $25,000. More information about these types of gifts is available through our Development Office and appears online at mountvernon.org/specialgifts.

Please be sure to look for the 1732 Society's recognition plaque that is proudly displayed in the Ford Orientation Center. For more information, please contact F. Anderson Morse, Director of Development, at (703)-799-8639 or andymorse@mountvernon.org.
