By popular demand, Mount Vernon is now offering tours of the newly opened Fred W. Smith National Library for the Study of George Washington!
Led by Mount Vernon tour guides and Library staff members, this new tour will offer access to the main floor of the much-anticipated center for scholarship about George Washington, Colonial America, and the Revolutionary Era. View rare books and manuscripts, special collections and art, research resources, and one-of-a-kind design details such as custom-created busts of the Founding Fathers.
Tour includes access to:
The Karen Buchwald Wright Reading Room
The John and Adrienne Mars Rare Books & Manuscripts Room
The Ann and John Bookout Reception Hall
The Library tour is included in general admission but a ticket is required to reserve a space.
Limited to 20 guests on a first-come, first-served basis. Ages 12 and over. Guests will meet their guide at 1:30pm in the Donald W. Reynolds Education Center & Museum lobby. Tours are one-hour in length.
