Inaugural Visions: Presidents Washington to Obama

On January 18 tune in to the Fairfax Network, local Channel 21 or join us online at 1 p.m. EST for Inaugural Visions: Presidents Washington to Obama. Mount Vernon invites students across the nation to participate in this interactive experience exploring the presidential inauguration and how the presidency defines our nation. Join moderator, Jennifer Nedeau, Washington historian Peter Henriques, and political scientist Stephen Farnsworth as they discuss these issues and answer your questions.

Students are invited to participate via Twitter before and during the program via #GWleadership. Send your answers to these 4 questions before the broadcast and be included on our wall.
•    What would be the key theme of your inaugural address?
•    What is your vision for the nation’s future?
•    How does the presidency define our nation?
•    How did George Washington define the presidency?

Teachers who have questions or would like to bring high school students to this program should contact dschallom@mountvernon.org.

Teacher resources for the inauguration can be found here.
