Mount Vernon Celebrates Girl Scouts' 100th Anniversary

George Washington’s home, Mount Vernon, welcomes thousands of Girl Scouts from across the country for special activities on June 10! The first 250 Girl Scouts to complete the Mount Vernon Historic Trail will receive a free patch. Girl Scouts can pick up the patch requirements sheet at the welcome desk in the Ford Orientation Center. The celebration continues at 11 a.m., with thousands of Girls Scouts taking a group photo featuring "Martha Washington", a 60-foot flag, and confetti streamers! Mount Vernon will have carnations for the Girl Scouts to lay at the Washingtons’ tomb all day. Make sure to visit the Food Court during your visit for a special "Thin Mint Brownie," inspired by the most popular Girl Scout cookie.
