Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington, invites you to explore the sites, tastes, and sounds associated with George Washington in the nation’s capital through a new tour, George Washington Lives Here, on May 12, from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The day begins with a continental breakfast and panel discussion among leading historians and curators before moving to the National Gallery of Art for a tour of “America’s Presidents Exhibition” with chief curator, Brandon Fortune. During lunch at Zola Restaurant, participants will listen to exciting stories about George Washington’s role in America’s first spy ring. Following lunch are George Washington themed tours of the United States Capitol and Tudor Place, home of Martha Washington’s granddaughter.
