This event takes place Fri-Sun, May 22-24 & May 29-31. Celebrate the movie "Night at the Museum" by having a "Night at Mount Vernon"! George Washington's estate is opening its doors for an unprecedented evening event May 22-24 and 29-31, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Stroll the lantern-lit grounds and immerse yourself in the 18th century as the sun sets on the plantation. In the Donald W. Reynolds Education Center , people come out of displays just like in the movie – so keep an eye out for wandering exhibits! Meet characters from Washington 's world as they come to life during this special event.

Meet characters from Washington 's world as they come to life during this special event. This event is not included in daytime admission to Mount Vernon; a separate event ticket is required. Advance ticket purchase is available online at www.MountVernon.org/onlinetickets and in person at the Ford Orientation Center. Tickets may also be purchased in person on May 22-24 and 29-31 at the Ford Orientation Center until 8:00 p.m. The last character tour takes place at 8:30 p.m. The Mansion, Ford Orientation Center, the Donald W. Reynolds Museum and Education Center, food court, and gift shop will be open for this event. The George Washington: Pioneer Farmer site, Wharf, and access to view the Washingtons' tomb will be closed for this evening event. This event occurs rain or shine. The Donald W. Reynolds Museum & Education Center will be cleared at 9:00 p.m. Separate event tickets are required. Annual passes are not valid for this evening event.
Admission for the "Night at Mount Vernon" event is $15 for adults and $7 for youth ages 6-11 (the same as daytime admission).
