Slave Commemoration Ceremony

Black Women United for Action and the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association join in commemorating the slaves who lived at Mount Vernon with a wreathlaying ceremony and musical presentation at the Slave Memorial at Mount Vernon. This event features dramatic readings and uplifting music presented to reflect, remember and recognize the slaves for their sacrifices, accomplishments and contributions to the early formation of this nation.
