Historic Mount Vernon celebrates General and Mrs. Washington’s 250th wedding anniversary with a FREE special program by “Mrs. Washington” Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. throughout the month of January in the Robert H. and Clarice Smith Auditorium. Lady Washington will recount the private moments between herself and General Washington from their 40-year marriage during the “Our Worthy Partnership” performance. In honor of the 250th wedding anniversary, Mrs. Washington's wedding slippers are on display from January 12 through February 23, which have not been exhibited at Mount Vernon in over 20 years and due to their fragile condition will not be on display for many years to come.
Admission is free to Mrs. Washington's performance. Admission is required to view the wedding slippers.
