Features Dinner with Produce from Washington’s Garden

MOUNT VERNON, VA – Mount Vernon invites guests to taste the season’s freshest ingredients with a dash of history during a new culinary event, Farm to Table, on Friday, May 9, from 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event commences with a reception in Washington’s upper garden and greenhouse featuring specialty cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. After the reception, guests will learn how food was grown, stored, and prepared for the Washington family through a private tour of Mount Vernon’s lower garden and Mansion. Following the tour, guests will enjoy a flavorful four-course dinner at the Mount Vernon Inn, featuring some products cultivated and produced on the Estate:

Amuse-Bouche
Cod Brandade Fritters with Horseradish Mousseline

First Course
Fried Asparagus Salad, with Gorgonzola Cheese, Pancetta, Heirloom Lettuce, and Balsamic Vinaigrette

Second Course
Seared Maryland Wild Rockfish served in a Fennel Saffron Broth with Garden Leeks and Baby New Potatoes

Third Course
Beef Tenderloin Wellington topped with Béarnaise Sauce

Dessert
Rhubarb, Strawberry & Lemon Curd Tart

Tickets for Farm to Table are $175 and include tax and gratuity. This event is limited in capacity. Wine pairings are included in dinner. The Farm to Table menu is subject to change based on Mount Vernon’s spring harvest. Tickets may be purchased online at MountVernon.org or at the Ford Orientation Center’s ticket window.
